About the Role
Redefined Staffing, LLC is seeking a PACU RN to meticulously observe and treat our post-anesthesia care unit patients, ensuring that they recover properly after a surgery or procedure that requires anesthesia. Our ideal candidate works with a high level of attention to ensure each patient safely transitions from an anesthetized state to responsiveness. It is absolutely essential to communicate with other medical personnel regarding any abnormal test results, symptoms, or changes in a patient’s condition. We expect you to perform your duties while upholding the standards of care for our PACU.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Ensuring that the community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as it pertains to clinical care.
Collecting, and reporting occurrences, and if necessary, assist in developing/implementing improvement plans.
Frequently check PACU patients, monitoring their vital signs and other post-surgical factors
Reviewing each patient’s medical history, taking note of important information
Performing post-operative tasks, such as changing bandages and giving patients medications
Providing patients and their family members or caretakers with information about home recovery, including any restrictions on diet or activity
Determining if patients are ready to leave the facility or if they need more specialized care in the ICU
Collaborating with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, technologists, and other hospital personnel as necessary to provide quality patient care
Partnering with administrators and other team members to maintain resident and team member health safety.
Partnering with pharmacy consultants to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
Implementing infection control practices in the facility.
Safely and efficiently distributing and/or administrating of medications, injections, nebulizers, moderate wound care per state regulations, as needed when floor nurse is not available.
Identifying ongoing needs and services for patients with a change in health care status.
Completing any assigned evaluations.
Partnering with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss the potential changes in service and/or medication levels
Updating the patient’s service plan as indicated by state regulations.
Maintaining communications with patient’s family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
Using knowledge and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act; Standards of Nursing Practice; Standards of Patient Care; Joint Commission, state and local laws; Patient’s Bill of Rights.
Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in nursing
Must hold a valid RN license for the State of NC
Current valid ACLS/ and Basic Life certification required.

An understanding of medical technology and equipment
Strong assessment skills, giving you the ability to detect subtle changes in your patient’s condition
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
In-depth knowledge of medications and their actions, including interactions, side effects, and dosage calculations
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
Strong communication skills
The ability to handle end-of-life issues
Ability to work well in a team environment.
The ability to rapidly make a decision and take instant action
