About the Role
Redefined Staffing, LLC is seeking a Surgical Technician to be responsible and accountable for the delivery of remarkable care to our patients. The surgical technician will be under the direction of surgeons, Registered Nurse(RN), and/ or other surgical personnel but will be required to work independently.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparing and maintaining medical equipment for surgical procedures.
Helping prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
Following hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures.
Performing pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body, and medical equipment.
Assembling both sterile and non-sterile equipment, as well as adjust and check it to ensure it is working properly.
Getting patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
Transporting patients to the operating room, helping to position them on the operating table, and covering them with sterile surgical “drapes.”
Observing patient's vital signs, checking charts, and assisting the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
Passing instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
Holding retractors, cutting sutures, and helping count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
Helping to prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
Helping the surgical team with applying dressings.
Operating sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and help operate diagnostic equipment.
Helping to transfer patients to the recovery room after the procedure
Cleaning and restocking the operating room
Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Operating Room experience with hearts, robotic, neuro, and peripheral vascular is a plus
Must demonstrate satisfactory health status including a current physical, which includes the following: proof of a negative TB Blood Test; and proof of receiving the following vaccines: MMR, Varicella, TDAP, Influenza, and a Negative Covid 19 test in the past 14 days
Required to pass a background check and drug screening
